At Kodo, I was responsible for designing the next generation of early childhood educational products, toy testing standards, quality control, and product support, analyzing departmental risks and needs, forming and leading teams, and developing and refining processes.

Kärcher North America – Strategic Innovation & Market Intelligence / 2013-2016
Within the Kärcher Strategic Innovation & Market Intelligence Team, I identified growth opportunities by conducting customer needs research and synthesizing actionable recommendations to drive product development. Additionally, I supported the company’s mission with competitive intelligence, concept development, story-boarding, and conducting innovation workshops.

Ascent Solar Technologies – Product Designer / 2013
As Product Designer, I was responsible for identifying consumer applications for a proprietary photo-voltaics and designing ruggedized products targeting the outdoors market. I also contributed to packaging design, vendor sourcing, and facilitating internal workshops.

Esselte Corporation – Industrial Design Manager / 2006-2012
At Esselte, I oversaw the Industrial Design for all product categories. I was also a founding member of the Esselte Innovation Team, which creates new products and features by identifying user needs and market opportunities. Specific duties include user research, design direction, concept development, external design management, human factors, materials, colors, and surface finishes. Work entailed regularly traveling to China to work with manufacturing engineers throughout the supply chain.

LOE Design – Design Manager & Business Development / 2003-2006
My duties at LOE included design direction, business development, and project management. I was instrumental in running design programs for international companies including Intel, HP, Jabil, Teague, Kone Elevators, Thule, and Huawei. During my tenure, LOE also had heightened participation in the global design community.

Provided product design and innovation to Pepsi, Wunderbar, Progressive International, and more. Three of my clients led to full time positions (Esselte, Ascent Solar, and Kärcher).

The Obb Toy Group – Toy Inventor / 2001
Toy invention, model making, 2D illustration, filming, and voice-overs. Gained valuable exposure to the inner workings of commercial innovation.

Elope Inc. – Industrial Designer / 2001
Developed products for Disney, Warner Brothers, and more. Manage sample production on-site in China. Coordinated a sponsored project between Elope and WWU ID.
